Puppy Hypoallergenic Formula
Our puppy formula differs from our adult formula with 2 ingredients. First is more protein to help with their never ending energy level. The second is more calcium to help support their growing bones. We recommend large breed puppies switch to our adult formula at 6 months of age to ensure a healthy growth rate.

Gluten Free Hypoallergenic Formula
For dogs with allergies all year round. If your dog suffers from chronic ear infections, or chronic skin problems, gluten free is definitely worth trying. If your dog suffers from seizures, gluten free foods have been shown to lessen the number and degree of seizures. A minimum of 6 – 8 weeks is recommended, using a protein source that has not been fed before, i.e. lamb or pollock (white fish). In order to determine if gluten is the source of your dogs issues, going gluten free is an all or nothing approach. Therefore, all treats, biscuits, or basically anything that goes into your dogs mouth needs to be monitored diligently.
Gluten is a protein group found in wheat and other flours that forms the structure of the bread dough. Gluten holds the carbon dioxide produced by the yeast and expands during fermentation, and provides the elasticity and extensibility (stretch) in bread dough. Glutenin and gliadin are the two proteins that form gluten. Celiac disease, also known as gluten intolerance, is a condition in which glutens cause destruction of the villi in the small intestine. The damaged villi are unable to function properly, resulting in poor absorption of nutrients. The villi are hair-like protrusions INTO the intestine, emanating from the wall of the intestine. The purpose of the villi is to slow the passage of food, and to allow food particles to be captured in among these finger-like villi, so that the blood inside the villi can absorb the nutrients in the food.

Cancer Formula
Our Canine Life cancer formula is formulated for low carbs and high protein. It is a unique blend, to support dogs with cancer. We also have a formula to support dogs that have been diagnosed cancer free, or in remission.

Cruciferous vegetables have excellent cancer fighting properties. Research suggests that cruciferous vegetables contain a kind of phytochemical known as isothiocyanates, which stimulate our bodies to break down potential carcinogens. They work by preventing the transformation of normal healthy cells into cancerous cells.

Kidney Support Formula
Canine Life’skidney support formula is designed to provide high quality protein in moderately restricted amounts, while providing adequate caloric intake from additional non-protein ingredients. If your dog requires low phosphorus, please contact us for additional recommendations.

Liver Support Formula
Protein is very important when preparing a diet for a dog that has liver problems. It is important to note, that it is not the protein itself that is harmful to the liver, but the ammonia that is found in animal proteins. Often, a low protein diet is recommended, but it is the type of protein, that is the important thing to consider, because when a liver is damaged, ammonia finds its way into the system and can cause problems, so in creating a special needs diet, you need to explore those proteins that produce the least amount of ammonia. High quality protein is the best protein to choose. Animal proteins contain the correct amino acids, while plant proteins lack some of the amino acids that are essential to organ health and repair.

Biscuit Mixes
Biscuit mixes are available in both our regular hypoallergenic formula and our gluten free formula. Our biscuit mixes consist of the same ingredients as our respective muffin pre-mix, except the biscuit mixes do not contain calcium. Dogs should receive all the calcium they require on a daily basis through their food, which is why we do not include calcium in the biscuit mixes.
If you are feeding a gluten free diet, it is very difficult to find gluten free biscuits and treats. Our gluten free biscuit mix provides the opportunity for your dog to still enjoy biscuits for treats, and ensures he/she will continue to maintain a gluten free diet.
A variety of biscuit recipes are included with each bag of biscuit mix.
